Youth ministry

Our core focuses in ministry are...

1. Bible Literacy — achieved at home through reading the word, in small groups through sunday school and Wednesday night small group time, and in large gatherings on sunday nights and for the first half of

Wednesday nights.
We put a big emphasis on the 14 eras of
scripture and the Big story of the Bible.

2. Hospitality — Love of the stranger. We want students to feel welcome. We have a snack room and couches so that students feel comfortable. We want to try to keep the feeling of belonging as part of the family.

3. Service to the broader body of Christ — We push our students to be involved in all the other ministries of the church. We want to help them develop talents in sharing the gospel, playing instruments, singing in the choir, teaching, etc. The youth group is great place for them to start serving before they take the leap to serve in front of the whole church.

We have a class for girls and a class for guys. We teach through the Bible using the 14 Eras framework adopted from Iva May’s Chronological Bible Teaching. Our students are encouraged to read through the Bible Chronologically each year to develop advanced Biblical Literacy so that when they leave youth ministry, they have a firm grasp on the big story of the Bible.

Sunday School from 9:30-10:30 AM upstairs in the Youth Room

We teach either topically or through Books of the Bible according to the needs of the church at the present time. In addition to the large group teaching, we have a youth worship band that leads us in singing songs of praise to help students develop love for worshipping God in song.

Sunday Nights from 5:30-7:00 PM upstairs in the Youth Room

We break up into smaller groups by age to discuss sections of Scripture together, going through the texts verse by verse. This year we are going through the Chronological New Testament to give our students a broad understanding of the New Testament.
