making disciples

After committing to follow Jesus, we will spend the rest of our lives learning to HELP OTHERS COME TO FAITH IN JESUS and learning to HELP OTHERS OBEY JESUS. This is the church’s one job. This is how we make
disciples.

Followers of Jesus (the church) share the same devotions (Acts 2:42-47). The first congregation formed on the day of Pentecost. The Holy Spirit produced the same devotions in every member of the church. The devotions of each member resulted in COMMUNITY DISCIPLINES.

The description of the church in the New Testament teaches us our identity as a community. As a church, we must strive together to become what Jesus designed us to be. This means that we must agree on what we are attempting to achieve as a congregation.

devotions produce disciplines

The church is the BODY OF CHRIST. Therefore, we work together to achieve the SAME DISCIPLINES. The Holy Spirit is continually GIFTING every member to produce fruit which drives everything we do.

our disciplines

Using Acts 2:42-47 as a foundation, we understand:
We are becoming a BIBLE-KNOWING people.
We are becoming a COMMUNITY people.
We are becoming a COVENANT people.
We are becoming a PRAYING people.
We are becoming an AGREEING people.
We are becoming a GATHERING people.
We are becoming a SHARING people.
We are becoming a PRAISING people.
We are becoming a GOSPEL-SHARING people.
We are becoming a MISSIONS-SENDING people.
We are becoming a SENT-OUT people.

Our disciplines are defined by 11 "becoming" statements

Jesus taught that His Kingdom MULTIPLIES. The results of all that we do are consistent in every generation and every culture:

NEW CONGREGATIONS ARE FORMED AND EXISTING CONGREGATIONS ARE STRENGTHENED.

build to accomodate

Build to accommodate growth. Because we are
growing, we must address specific space needs on our campus. In the future, we will seek to plant new congregations, sending our members out to establish new works in our area. In the present, we have the following needs: dedicated children’s ministry space, a gathering space for young families, including an awesome indoor playground, larger sanctuary space, more education
space, and adequate multipurpose space.

Unite in Christ. Our church is growing in all generations. Also, new members are joining us from many different faith backgrounds. This season of growth creates relational gaps in our congregation. We must acknowledge these gaps and work intentionally to close them! We must continually grow in our understanding of what it means to be one in Christ! We desire to be united in all things.

Reach people. We desire to continually engage people in our community and to the ends of the earth with the gospel of Christ. This means that we must become a disciple-making factory. We must become a Bible-knowing, gospel-sharing, missions-sending people!

N-list kingdom workers. During this season of the life of our church, we have a large task to accomplish. We must be intentional about how we N-list every member of our church to work together in ministry. Our desire is that every member find a place of service so we continue to make disciples who make disciples.

The B.U.R.N. PLAN defines four goals our church is working to accomplish over the course of the next several years. These goals are as follows:
