Tell of His Wondrous Works
Psalm 105
"Oh give thanks to the LORD; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works!
Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice! Seek the LORD and his strength; seek his presence continually! Remember the wondrous works that he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he uttered"
Our worship songs are characterized by the retelling of the "old, old story of Jesus and His love". The power of the cross is essential to our expression of worship. Changed, transformed lives respond with worship, singing and making melody to the Lord in corporate worship. As you and I sing we are telling our story, His story over and over again to each other and to a world that sees our witness. That is why the author of Hebrews tells us to never forsake corporate worship! Retelling the story is important to our Lord. It gives rise to generation after generation hearing, experiencing, and responding to the God of the gospel. Nothing gives me delight quite like the gathered church singing their worship to our loving, compassionate Lord!
Sing it, Church!
